*EDIT* A tweet from festival organiser John Giddings says that Rihanna will not be performing at the festival next year.
International superstar Rihanna has just announced details of her European tour, in support of her new album, which will take place during the months of June, July and August next year. Interestingly, the UK dates will take place in June, and Friday 10th and Sunday 12th have both been left clear, with an appearance in Holland on 11th June. These are, of course, the dates over which the Isle of Wight Festival takes place and, having been rumoured to play the festival in the past, could suggest that there is a possibility of her playing at the festival next year.
Although some may say that there is no possibility of Rihanna headlining the festival because she isn’t of the right genre, a headline slot on the Friday, which is traditionally set aside for modern artists, could be perfect for an act of her genre.
