An exciting new magazine and website aimed towards young Isle of Wight creatives, named ‘Rocket Fuel’, is being launched at the Quay Arts Centre on Saturday 9th April.
The magazine and website features articles, stories, poems, interviews, fashion features and photoshoots, artwork, and upcoming events which cover a wide range of topics, but generally giving advice and commenting on life as Island teenagers. ‘Rocket Fuel’ is managed, edited, marketed, and created by a collaboration of over 60 young people living and studying across the Isle of Wight. The magazine is aimed at young people between the ages of 13-20, as well as parents and those interested in the arts on the Isle of Wight.
Guests at the launch party will be issued with an exclusive copy of the new magazine and a goody bag at arrival to the launch and will be entertained throughout the evening by a myriad of young local island bands and musicians including: Isle of Wight Festival 2015 Main Stage artists Dreamer Joe, as well as FURTHERMORE, Lucille Effect, Reminders and Jack Barnes.
“We’re all so excited to be launching the first edition of this highly anticipated magazine,” said David McGregor, 17 years old, the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine. “It’s been an amazing journey for all of us – from the initial frenzy of deciding to take on such a huge project back in January, to the dawning realisation at 4am last week when we finally had a finished product.”
