The future is looming as Bestival 2016 is officially NEXT WEEK! This year sees another incredible line-up of music acts, accompanied by party antics you simply won’t find anywhere else.
In anticipation of the Isle of Wight’s biggest rave, we’ve come up with just 5 reasons why you can’t afford to miss this year’s event… because 1 just wasn’t enough!
Bestival’s Port stage has evolved, becoming The Spaceport stage to celebrate all things futuristic! Standing at more than 20 metres high, this new addition will host some of the greatest DJs this world has to offer, including Carl Cox, Diplo and Fatboy Slim. The Spaceport will also be joined by giant astronauts, standing at an astronomical 7 metres high, to make those Instagram posts look that little bit better.
Bestival always has wacky shows you wouldn’t find at an ordinary festival and this year is no different with the addition of the Lucha VaVoom Mexican wrestlers. Taking place on Friday, Saturday Sunday in the Big Top, there will be high flying manoeuvres, tag team action and mid-afternoon delights from some of the world’s finest luchadores.
Indie-pop powerhouses Bastille have gone from strength-to-strength since the release of global mega hit Pompeii and are looking forward to returning to Bestival to promote the release of the upcoming album Wild World. This will be your perfect chance to catch the lads performing their latest hits Fake It and Good Grief, and they may even perform some exclusives from their new album.
The Chuckle Brothers
Back by popular demand are children’s TV legends The Chuckle Brothers who have well and truly established themselves as part of the Sunday Best family. Barry and Paul Chuckle played to a packed out Big Top last year and this year the lads will be taking over the Main Stage with all their “to me, to you” antics. The duo are always up for a party and you will be too after checking them out!
Invaders Of The Future
Festivals are all about discovering new music and Bestival is one of the best in the country to do so. Stages like Invaders Of The Future mean you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to up and coming acts and, who knows, you may even discover your new favourite band. This year, the stage will feature performances from The Sherlocks, Black Honey, Hinds, Pretty Vicious and many more.
Bestival 2016 will be headlined by The Cure, Major Lazer, Wiz Khalifa, Sean Paul and Hot Chip, plus performances from Bastille, Fatboy Slim, Years & Years, Skepta, Diplo and many, more. For the full line-up, including some day and stage splits, please see here.
Tickets, including exclusive day tickets for Isle of Wight residents, are still available to buy and can be purchased here.
See you in the future!
